Public Meetings
Eddy Gulch Late-Successional Reserve
Fuel/Habitat Protection Project
“Eddy Gulch LSR Project”
March 5th, Wednesday – Panamnik Building in Orleans from 2 to 4 p.m.
March 6th, Thursday – Forks of Salmon Community Club from 1 to 3 p.m.
Why – More input is needed. This is our opportunity to share concerns and ideas before the finalization of the preliminary proposal.
Last month, the RED Inc. team demonstrated fire behavior modeling and how the team was testing fire behavior patterns across the Eddy Gulch LSR and adjacent areas. They talked about the problem fire for the forest and the community and habitat protection targets. The focus of these meetings is to show the results of all the modeling that has been performed. RED, Inc. will be presenting the proposed treatment areas and treatments that their team has designed for the LSR.
These treatments are the ones that will be carried forward as the preliminary proposed action for the NEPA scoping process.
During these collaboration meetings, the RED Team wants to receive feedback on those proposed treatments, and based on what they hear, will adjust any treatments and treatment areas as necessary.
